No Offense, Felon
Congress invents 50 new felony offenses every year (John Kiriakou). The unwitting American commits 3 felonies every single day. How the hell are we the people supposed to find out what exactly these new felonies are? I think every American should be given a bulletin every year listing exactly what the new laws are so that we don’t unknowingly get arrested and charged with a felony.
For example, did you know that it is now illegal to pick up someone’s lost/abandoned property from the ground outside? Even though the charges were dismissed and I was found not guilty, I was arrested and taken to jail for picking up a 97 year old woman’s purse that she had lost outside in the parking lot of a second hand store—even though my intent was to return that purse to its rightful owner. Unbelievable.
